SCANIA DEVELOPS NEW EU STAGE V ENGINES FOR GENERATOR SETS

Friday, January 3rd, 2020

Scania has developed a comprehensive genset range which not only fulfils emission demands but also reduces costs and environmental impact, says the company. Scania’s new EU Stage V solution offers improved handling of exhaust emissions, performance and response, fuel efficiency, cost, and engine lifetime. The final technical solution is based on Scania´s Euro 6 SCR (selective catalytic reduction) solution. The main components required for the exhaust gas after-treatment system are a diesel oxidation catalyst to cope with hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide emissions; a diesel particulate filter to keep the emissions of particulate matter within the legal limits; and an SCR unit including urea injectors and an evaporator to handle the emissions of nitrous oxides, reports the manufacturer.
