Alimar has assisted the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) by providing a backup power generator to prevent energy interruptions while transformer maintenance was being carried out in the city of Konya.
TEİAŞ is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of Turkey’s power system, throughout the country. It operates 66,453 km of power transmission lines, 729 substations, 163.849 MVA of transformer power and 12 interconnection lines with neighbour countries. Alimar supplied 29 Perkins-powered generator sets to maintain supply at critical locations in Konya – the company demonstrated its capabilities by building, testing, delivering, installing and commissioning all the generator sets within one month. Included in the order were 26 units powered by Perkins® 1104A-44TG1 engines and three units running on Perkins® 1104C-44TAG2 engines. The units are low on fuel and oil consumption, are smooth and quiet to run and can also be electronically controlled. In 2016, Alimar moved into a new 15,000 m2 factory on 45,000 m2 of space in Balikesir industry zone. The OEM has started work on a second factory of 17,500 m2 which will allow its experienced and specialist workforce to increase annual output to 7,000 generator sets.
